Varicose veins is a disease which is the source of a lot of discomfort ranging from aches and tiredness to cramps, swelling, itching, burning, throbbing, and severe pain. If left untreated, some varicose veins can lead to more serious problems such as dermatitis, skin ulcers, severe painful inflammation, and blood clots.
At the Vein Center of Wisconsin, we provide complete treatment for all kinds of vein disease, from the very small to the very large. Treatment ranges from non-surgical vein treatment, sclerotherapy (vein injections) to surgical procedures, which can be done in our own modern well-equipped Surgical Center. The fact that a hospital is not used, cuts down dramatically on the cost of these procedures.
Deciding which treatment is best for you depends upon your veins and their severity. About 99% of the patients we see can have their veins treated by a non-surgical treatment at our Center with little or no pain, and no time off work. There's no recovery period and no bed rest is needed. You can go back to your normal daily activity right away. Patients come often during their lunch hour and go right back to work.
If vein treatment is not done properly, serious complications can occur; therefore, it is very important that these procedures be done by an experienced specialist with proper training. Our surgeon completed his vascular training with the world-famous specialist, Dr. Michael DeBakey, at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
